Deep Seeing Currents
Wed 21 · 09:00 · ARTIS Aquarium · Aquarium · Amsterdam
As you approach Deep Seeing Currents by Olafur Eliasson , you are slowly enveloped by darkness and the sounds of life underwater. Layers of oceanic cacophony – whale songs, rumbling of hydrothermal vents, and human-made noises, among others – surround you, while the vibrations can be felt throughout your entire body, emulating the experience of pressure in the deep sea. Above and around you, lights flash and seem to descend like the hypnotic circulation of marine snow, the organic and inorganic particles essential to life in the deep sea. The immersive sound of Deep seeing currents is brought to life by 4DSOUND . The exhibition is located inside the ARTIS Aquarium and can be visited with a valid ARTIS Park ticket. Tickets are available through the ARTIS website. Opening hours: Wed - Sun, 09:00 - 18.00
Art Expo: How Can There Be Day Without Night
Wed 21 · 10:00 · The Node North · Bunk Hotel Amsterdam · Amsterdam
The Node North will be hosting an free exposition with nightlife related art by Britta Moller from Wednesday October 20 till Sunday October 25. Britta Möller is an Amsterdam-based artist creating large-scale abstract paintings wth acrylic, mixed media and layered textures. Her work explores transformation, surrender, visibility and concealment — themes rooted in the moment her former professional world came to a sudden stop during the pandemic. Before turning to painting, Möller worked for more than twenty-five years as a graphic designer and art director. In 1998, she co-founded Maslow, an Amsterdam-based design agency working for a wide range of organisations within the cultural sector. Maslow was responsible for the art direction and visual identity of Amsterdam Dance Event from 1998 to 2020, one of the key projects that shaped Möller’s strong position within the music and nightlife industry. With a specialisation in books and magazines, she designed and produced publications connected to Dutch dance culture, including Mary Go Wild — 25 Years of Dance in the Netherlands. She later co-founded and co-owned Mary Go Wild, a platform, store and publishing house dedicated to dance culture, which produced titles including Awakenings — 20 Years of Techno, Celebrate Life — The Story of ID&T and Thunderdome — 25 Years of Hardcore. When the pandemic brought the cultural and event world to a halt, painting became a way to move through loss and transition. After decades behind a computer, large-scale painting brought her back into the body: using movement, rhythm and physical presence instead of screen-based control. In some works, Möller uses phosphorescent pigments, creating a hidden layer that appears only in darkness — a subtle reference to nightlife, and to the idea that everything carries both a light and a dark side. She works from her studio at A Lab in Amsterdam-Noord. Expo: Wed 21/10
Pantheon Amsterdam
Wed 21 · 10:00 · Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder · Amsterdam
Pantheon Amsterdam brings together contemporary art, heritage and spirituality in a unique exhibition at Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder. Eight artists are creating new altarpieces and celebrations centred on stories of faith, identity, exclusion and recognition. Pantheon Amsterdam demonstrates that these subjects are not merely historical phenomena, but contemporary themes that continue to give meaning to the lives of many people. One of these art installations is ‘ Opacity ’ by Sammie Tjon Sien Foek , also known as DJ Slimfit . During ADE, Slimfit will give three intimate performances in the museum’s clandestine church. By integrating and remixing classical music elements with live electronic composition influenced by ancestral rhythms, they reinterpret supposedly opposing liturgical ideologies. More information about the performances at this page . Pantheon Amsterdam will run from 21 October 2026 until 24 October 2027. It can be visited everyday during regular museum hours (10:00-18:00) with a museum entrance ticket.
Slam Bam! Must Click! A Photography Exhibition by Dave Clarke

Following his solo exhibition at The Leica Gallery in Amsterdam in 2024 and his Parisian solo exhibition at Jardin 21 in September 2026, Dave Clarke presents twelve deep pictures of artists he has photographed over the years. Nelleke Strijkers , one of the partners at SPRMRKT and a former international photographers' agent, has been following Dave's work for a while and invited him this year to collaborate on an exhibition at their avant-garde store. You are welcome to join us throughout the ADE week to view the exhibition, on view 21–25 October, daily from 10:00 to 21:00, free entry. On Thursday 22 October at 19:00, Dave will be with us in person for The Art of Noise – Part One , a panel with Isaac Sellam and An Vandevorst on the interaction between fashion, photography and music, moderated by Jonas Zitter .

The Nature of Remembering
Wed 21 · 12:00 · W139 · Amsterdam
Initiated by artist Lawil Karama in conversation with historian Megan Hoetger , The Nature of Remembering is a group exhibition featuring multimedia research projects that move between interrogation of normative memory politics and co-experimentation with environmental and more-than-human bodies. The exhibition title carries in it two meanings: on the one hand, nature is evoked, drawing focus to actants, actors, and animacies beyond and beside the human, who witness, participate in, index, recollect, foretell, and haunt historical time. On the other hand, the idiomatic expression "the nature of" is taken up as a provocation, pushing against pervasive ideological and violently enforced notions of remembering and of commemorating. Running through all projects is a commitment to practices of frictioning: engaging technologies against their colonial grain, and lingering in the affectively, ancestrally, archivally, and forensically intertwined conditions of lived experience and knowledge production. Collectively, the works ask: Who, or what, enframes and enlivens acts of remembering violence, which have been rendered invisible, unspeakable, and unthinkable? The exhibition features work by Samuel Baidoo, Michèle Boulogne, Laura Fong Prosper and Tin Wilke, Lawil Karama, Aram Lee, Komtouch Napattaloong, Bart Seng Wen Long, and Kaisa Saarinen. W139 is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 until 18:00. Entry €5-, Students €3-. Tickets at the door. Explore more ADE Arts & Culture events at W139 here .
