Foam x Echobox present: The Sounds of In Here Own Way

Thu 22 · 19:00 · Aladdin's Notenhoek · Mercatorplein · Amsterdam
On ADE Thursday, Foam and Echobox present an evening of music and storytelling inspired by In Her Own Way / شوية وراجعة , Yomna El Beyaly 's outdoor exhibition on Mercatorplein. Developed as part of Foam's collaboration with Middle East Archive , a platform dedicated to celebrating and reimagining visual narratives from the Middle East and North Africa, the programme invites audiences to engage with the exhibition's themes through sound, conversation, and collective exchange. For one evening, Echobox takes over Aladdin's Notenhoek , a beloved local business that has long been part of daily life on Mercatorplein. In this intimate and unexpected setting, Karmel , Noise Diva , and ZINEB share musical selections alongside personal stories, cultural references, and sources of inspiration. Moving beyond the traditional DJ set, the programme creates space for listening, reflection, and dialogue. Through sound, the artists respond to themes that resonate throughout El Beyaly's work: identity, femininity, community, and the ways women see, define, and represent themselves and one another. About the exhibition: In Her Own Way / شوية وراجعة is a public-space exhibition by Egyptian-French photographer Yomna El Beyaly, presented by Foam and Middle East Archive. Through photographs made in Cairo, El Beyaly explores identity, femininity, and everyday life, creating a visual world shaped by colour, movement, intimacy, and personal perspective. The exhibition is on view at Mercatorplein from 1 to 29 October 2026.

Curious by nature, uncompromising in taste, and welcoming to everyone willing to discover something new. Initial program release: Helios by Heleen Blanken (AV Installation) Young Marco (live) ft. Jonny Nash Oceanic (live) Gizem Öz (live) Presented by Nxt Museum Sophia Bulgakova (installation) Arno Schuitemaker (choreo) L'atelier du Champagne (wine) Living Room Session w/ Shaquille Joy, Tamara Shogaolu (Nationale Opera & Ballet) PEEL (music) Pintai (music) Sprezzatura (Wine) File #002 and program per day coming soon. Young Marco ft. Jonny Nash, Oceanic and Gizem - artists known for moving dance floors - step into slower, more atmospheric territory for a series of one-off performances. As an official part of ADE Arts & Culture, the program extends beyond music, featuring newly commissioned and previous work by interdisciplinary Ukrainian artist Sophia Bulgakova , curated by Nxt Museum. Bulgakova’s practice connects personal experience with wider political realities, exploring how art and activism can exist side by side. Her works Spomyny (2024) and Sensitive Guidelines (2026) will pull the audience into the passage. As the hours pass, the former bureaucratic hallway starts to shift. Thomas Azier x raam art space: Live Showcase

Thu 22 · 19:00 · raam art space · Amsterdam
Thomas Azier x raam art space: Live Showcase - First Time Slot After three years of relative silence, Thomas Azier returns with PANORAMA, an expansive and deeply personal musical project, marking a new chapter in his artistic trajectory. Intimate but bold, the project unfolds across sound and visual language. With his performance at raam art space Thomas Azier will introduce this new work. Poems, field recordings, video works and performative elements disrupt the traditional concert structure, giving it a fractured, collage-like character. Azier’s new music carries his strong melodic sensibility further merging string arrangements and experimental practices into a series of intriguing pieces. The voice becomes an interpretative tool, shifting between male and female, human and animal, mythical and real. Songs are juxtaposed with intermissions and character changes that shift rhythm and mood, like switching channels or scrolling through an endless feed. Thomas Azier is a dutch composer, producer, singer and performer. He has released 6 albums over the past 12 years, consistently shaping the contours of his unique take on pop music. raam art space was opened by Gallery Vriend van Bavink. It offers an open view into an evolving program of exhibitions and ideas that engage directly with the city. Upcoming exhibition: "Forest of the City" by Anouk Griffioen (from Oct 2 - Nov 22 2026). Multiple time slots - Free entry (RSVP needed)

Elias Mazian (live) x EINDER by Boris Acket

Thu 22 · 20:00 · Centrale Markthal · Amsterdam
One monumental art installation. Two weeks on view. Three extraordinary concerts. Celebrate ADE’s 30th anniversary with EINDER by Boris Acket. On 22 October , EINDER will set the scene for a live performance by Elias Mazian and his band . Be aware that this is a seated event. For the first time in two years, Elias Mazian returns to the stage with his live band. The DJ, producer and singer songwriter marks a special one-off performance at the Centrale Markthal during Amsterdam Dance Event, staged within EINDER, the kinetic light and fabric installation longtime friend Boris Acket created, inspired by Mazian’s debut album ‘ Vrij Van Dromen’. Mazian and Acket premierd Einder together at Het HEM, translating Mazian’s warm, melancholic songs into a living canvas of light and movement. Five years on, Mazian assembles his live band once more to bring that music back to life, for one night only. About EINDER: EINDER is an artificial sky in constant motion. A vast expanse of ultralight fabric floating above the space, animated by hundreds of electronically controlled fans. The system is precisely programmed, yet what happens overhead can never be entirely controlled. Air currents collide, gravity pulls and turbulence interrupts, turning every movement into something new. At times, EINDER resembles a rolling sea. At others, a passing cloud or the beginnings of a storm. It moves somewhere between choreography and weather. Always changing. Never performing the same way twice. This is a production by artist Boris Acket and Making Waves. Acket has previously collaborated with institutions and artists including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, Lowlands and Fred again. The production is realised by Goonie Crew. EINDER brings together movement, space, sound, material and light in an installation that invites people not only to observe, but to experience. Pre-registration has now closed. Regular tickets will go on sale via our website on August 27. Explore more ADE Arts & Culture events at Centrale Markthal here .
