ADE picks
Listening Session & Bites with Disco Arabesquo
Disco Arabesquo digs through vinyl and cassettes from Egyptian cinema of the 70s to the 90s: warm, sample-heavy grooves with more melody than kick drum. A listening session with Egyptian snacks from Qibli Bahri.
Rethinking Dance in Nightlife
NickV, Polli Panda and Sophie Koffeman discuss why fewer people dance all night, what happened to club participation, and whether nightlife lost its social movement. It’s framed through The Better Move, with house, breaks, electro and swing on the floor.
Elisa Zuppini - Disambiguation
Elisa Zuppini presents a group work for 15 dancers about nightlife after the club, with depersonalisation, altered states and collective perception shaping the movement. The piece builds a pulsing structure that reaches toward and withdraws from the audience.
Striptopia
Pole dance, drag, stripping and performance
Dome Concerts presents: THYLACINE - visuals by Julius Horsthuis
Thylacine plays long, cinematic pieces that mix acoustic detail with clean synths, while Julius Horsthuis projects fractal animation around you at Fabrique des Lumières. Sit back and look up.
Swan Lake Remixed for ADE
Dutch National Ballet, ISH Dance Collective and Junior Company reframe Swan Lake with hip-hop dance, electronic music and digital art. The staged work ties desire, freedom and the tension between light and darkness to the present day.
Doka Culture x Live Coding Sessions
MYNA builds dark, percussion-heavy patterns in real time while the code is projected; Hellocatfood and Deaxmachina code the visuals. A basement under Volkshotel, and the most nerdy-fun night of the week.
Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest x EINDER by Boris Acket
Boris Acket’s EINDER meets the Concertgebouworkest’s Beethoven Fifth inside Amsterdam’s Centrale Markthal, with 70 musicians under a monumental light-and-motion installation. It’s orchestral weight, spatial sound and moving fabric in one large-scale art-and-music setup.
