The Art of Noise – Part One
Thu 22 · 18:00 · SPRMRKT · Amsterdam
For the first time, SPRMRKT joins ADE Arts & Culture, turning its 400 m² concept store and creative hub into a meeting point for fashion, photography and music. On Thursday 22 October, DJ, artist and photographer Dave Clarke is joined by Parisian fashion designer Isaac Sellam and Belgian fashion designer and DJ An Vandevorst to talk about the interaction between fashion, photography and music. Who and what inspires each of them? Where does the process start, and where will it finish? With An on the decks. The conversation is moderated by Jonas Zitter of KledingCast. Before or after the talk, visit Dave's exhibition Slam Bam! Must Click! : twelve monochrome portraits of artists, on view at SPRMRKT throughout ADE. Free entry. RSVP via the link.
Motie - Thursday (Opening Night)
Thu 22 · 19:00 · STOPERA · Amstel 1 · Amsterdam
For three days, Amsterdam City Hall becomes a home for the people, sounds and ideas that shape Amsterdam after dark. Music, light, food and art come together in a setting that belongs to the city as much as it belongs to the people who inhabit it. A temporary and custom-built world where familiar faces meet new perspectives and where Amsterdam's creative night culture is celebrated without translation. Rooted in Amsterdam yet open to the world, Motie celebrates the city's creative spirit during its most international week. Curious by nature, uncompromising in taste, and welcoming to everyone willing to discover something new. Initial program release: Helios by Heleen Blanken (AV Installation) Young Marco (live) ft. Jonny Nash Oceanic (live) Gizem Öz (live) Presented by Nxt Museum Sophia Bulgakova (installation) Arno Schuitemaker (choreo) L'atelier du Champagne (wine) Living Room Session w/ Shaquille Joy, Tamara Shogaolu (Nationale Opera & Ballet) PEEL (music) Pintai (music) Sprezzatura (Wine) File #002 and program per day coming soon. About Motie ADE: The former municipal service desks of Amsterdam City Hall becomes a meeting place for Amsterdam’s creative ecosystem. Music, food and art come together in a custom-built world. From Amsterdam, for Amsterdam. At the centre of the stage sits Helios, a kinetic audiovisual installation by Heleen Blanken. Each evening, Helios takes on a different musical interpretation. Young Marco ft. Jonny Nash, Oceanic and Gizem - artists known for moving dance floors - step into slower, more atmospheric territory for a series of one-off performances. As an official part of ADE Arts & Culture, the program extends beyond music, featuring newly commissioned and previous work by interdisciplinary Ukrainian artist Sophia Bulgakova , curated by Nxt Museum. Bulgakova’s practice connects personal experience with wider political realities, exploring how art and activism can exist side by side. Her works Spomyny (2024) and Sensitive Guidelines (2026) will pull the audience into the passage. As the hours pass, the former bureaucratic hallway starts to shift. What was once a place for forms and numbers becomes a place to wander into and experience the full width of Amsterdam night culture.
Djrum (live) x EINDER by Boris Acket
Thu 22 · 22:00 · Centrale Markthal · Amsterdam
One monumental art installation. Two weeks on view. Five extraordinary concerts. Celebrate ADE’s 30th anniversary with EINDER by Boris Acket. On 22 October , experience Djrum (live) with his self-built instruments: hybrid acoustic-electronic sculptures made from raw and found materials. For EINDER , Djrum not only creates the soundscape and music, but also performs live with a genre-defying discography released on labels including Houndstooth, and performances at international platforms such as Berlin Atonal, Djrum creates an ever-evolving, physical landscape of sound in which the architecture of the space itself becomes part of the instrument. About EINDER EINDER is an artificial sky in constant motion. A vast expanse of ultralight fabric floating above the space, animated by hundreds of electronically controlled fans. The system is precisely programmed, yet what happens overhead can never be entirely controlled. Air currents collide, gravity pulls and turbulence interrupts, turning every movement into something new.At times, EINDER resembles a rolling sea. At others, a passing cloud or the beginnings of a storm. It moves somewhere between choreography and weather. Always changing. Never performing the same way twice. This is a production by artist Boris Acket and Making Waves. Acket has previously collaborated with institutions and artists including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, Lowlands and Fred again. The production is realised by Goonie Crew. EINDER brings together movement, space, sound, material and light in an installation that invites people not only to observe, but to experience. Dome Concerts presents: COLIN BENDERS + OTHERNODE
Thu 22 · 22:30 · Fabrique des Lumières · Amsterdam
Sound and image emerge together. This ADE, Dome Concerts opens a new chapter at FABRIQUE DES LUMIERES — one of Amsterdam's most extraordinary cultural venues. Across four days, internationally acclaimed artists transform this monumental space through sound, light and architecture. Some performances follow a fixed sequence. This one begins with a carefully constructed framework: a shared audiovisual system designed to be played, redirected and transformed in real time. Within this framework, COLIN BENDERS shapes rhythm, texture and evolving sequences live through his modular synthesizer, while OTHERNODE composes and performs with real-time image, light, projection and the architecture of the venue. Their practices operate as a shared audiovisual instrument, responding to one another and to the space as the performance unfolds. Neither sound nor image merely accompanies the other. Both actively shape the composition. Presented inside Fabrique des Lumières , the collaboration expands beyond the traditional concert format. Music, light and projection move across the monumental architecture, continuously reshaping the perception of space. The system is prepared, but the performance is not fixed. What unfolds is created in the moment and belongs entirely to those who are present. Dome Concerts is an immersive 360° live audiovisual series taking place throughout ADE at ARTIS Planetarium and Fabrique des Lumières .
