Amsterdam Vinyl Club & Wanakam come together yet again this time to bring you an all vinyl (& more) multi genre evening on the opening night of ADE 2026. Joining the night will be veteran and new DJ's alike from the Amsterdam Vinyl Club roster playing music across genres of NU & Italo Disco, House, Jazz, Roots Reggae, Dub, Live Synth, South Asian Grooves, Electronica, Techno. All sets are exclusively curated for the occasion and will be accompanied with Immersive live visuals making it the perfect way to expirence what this local talent pool in Amsterdam has to offer on such an occasion of celebrating music, dance & culture like ADE. About Amsterdam Vinyl Club: Amsterdam Vinyl Club started as an experiment: create a night for people who love records. A celebration of collecting, discovering and sharing music – built for crate diggers, wax junkies and anyone who think music feels better when it’s played on vinyl. What started as a single event has grown into something bigger. Today, Amsterdam Vinyl Club hosts events across the city, alongside new spin-off nights including listening parties, genre specials and laid-back Sunday sessions. But the spirit remains the same as it was on day one: great music, great people and the thrill of discovering something new. The best part? Kraak & Smaak returns to Amsterdam on October 22 for the Amsterdam Dance Event. Following their 20th anniversary and the release of the compilation *Twenty*, the internationally acclaimed electronic disco, funk, and indie act from Leiden headed back into the studio to record their seventh album. The result: ‘Velvet Seas,’ featuring singles such as ‘Nothing Is Forever,’ ‘Heat,’ and ‘Travel Light.’ With their new album in tow, the band returns to the Melkweg’s MAX, led by the powerful vocals of Berenice van Leer and Ivar Vermeulen. During this ADE Arts & Culture special, we dive into the history of the disco scene and the dawn of the DJ era. From pioneers and tastemakers to clubs like Vrijhaven and today’s festivals. We trace the journey from disco to house and ask ourselves: is that energy still alive? Do we still dare to embrace the disco spirit? Expect stories, music, performances and fresh perspectives.
