Speaker: mo rights (Artist) Join mo rights for a listening session around his debut EP, things2proof, and a conversation about perfectionism, community and what happens to a record after it is released. Like many emerging artists, mo approached his debut with the feeling that it had to be perfect. things2proof became an attempt to move beyond that pressure: to finish the music, release it through a friend’s local label, and invite artists from his community to reshape it through remixes. In doing so, the record became more than a personal debut. It became a snapshot of the scene around him at that moment. Two years later, the project has continued to evolve. Most recently, mo invited another 20 artists from the local and international community to remix the record, resulting in interpretations spanning broken beat, house, techno and everything in between. It is a deliberately bottom-up approach that treats a release not as a finished product, but as something that can keep moving through a community. Through listening and the stories connected to the music, mo will reflect on the psychological process of releasing a debut, the value of letting go of perfection, and the role local scenes can play in shaping an artist’s work. A listening session centred on an ever-evolving body of work that crosses genres, scenes and perspectives.

As a solo DJ and one third of TLM, Mehran has built his musical identity around long, extended journeys through house music, with a deep affinity for the warmth and euphoria of ’90s dance music. Moving through personal inspirations, formative records and the sounds that continue to influence him today, he traces the musical path that eventually led to his first solo release, Cruise Terminal, on Berlin-based label SEVEN. Rooted in the warmth and euphoria of ’90s trance, house and Balearic music, Cruise Terminal distils these influences into four melodic, sun-drenched cuts driven by shimmering synths, rolling basslines, crisp percussion and psychedelic details. During the session, Mehran will connect the dots between the records that inspired him and the process of finding his own voice as a producer. This listening session offers a more personal perspective on Mehran’s musical world: a chance to hear the music behind the music, played on the HiFi system and accompanied by the stories, memories and ideas that shaped Cruise Terminal.
