Deep Seeing Currents

Wed 21 · 09:00 · ARTIS Aquarium · Aquarium · Amsterdam
As you approach Deep Seeing Currents by Olafur Eliasson , you are slowly enveloped by darkness and the sounds of life underwater. Layers of oceanic cacophony – whale songs, rumbling of hydrothermal vents, and human-made noises, among others – surround you, while the vibrations can be felt throughout your entire body, emulating the experience of pressure in the deep sea. Above and around you, lights flash and seem to descend like the hypnotic circulation of marine snow, the organic and inorganic particles essential to life in the deep sea. The immersive sound of Deep seeing currents is brought to life by 4DSOUND . The exhibition is located inside the ARTIS Aquarium and can be visited with a valid ARTIS Park ticket. Tickets are available through the ARTIS website. Opening hours: Wed - Sun, 09:00 - 18.00

Audio-Technica presents Hotaru:Analog:Ambient

Wed 21 · 12:00 · The Stargate · Amsterdam
Audio-Technica and The Stargate have joined up with guest selector Nina Yamada to present Hotaru:Analog:Ambient – an immersive multi-sensory event featuring Audio-Technica’s Hotaru turntable. Launched at Milan Design Week 2025, the Hotaru is the next step in the evolution of analog. The floating turntable's stylus reacts to the messages held deep in the record groove, uniting music and light into a unique experience. Nina Yamada will curate a collection of Japanese minimal, ambient and kanyõ ongaku records to guide the guests deeper into the listening experience, painting a truly one-of-a-kind deep listening scene. Inspired by the delicate glow of the firefly from which the Hotaru takes its name, this event echoes their fleeting beauty in a unique analog experience that will leave a long-lasting impression. As the needle gently touches the record, sound and light emerge, colouring the silence. Guests are invited to stand, sit or lie down in the round, for as much or as little time as they need to deeply connect with the music. Free entry. Concrete Summer / Skeletal (fabric Records) Listening Session with Jasmín

Wed 21 · 12:30 · Radio Radio · The Listening Bar · Amsterdam
Speaker: Jasmín (Artist) For this intimate listening session, Dutch-Argentinian DJ and producer Jasmín takes us through the sounds and ideas that have shaped her sonic world, centred around her recent EP Concrete Summer / Skeletal. With a sound rooted in stripped-back, percussive techno, her work draws on tension, space, rhythm and the atmosphere of cities after dark. Moving through personal inspirations, formative records and the sounds that continue to influence her today, she traces the musical path that led to Concrete Summer / Skeletal, the second instalment in her four-part series for fabric Originals, following It’s Girls Night / Long Hair. During the session, Jasmín connects the dots between these influences, the work that has inspired her and the process of developing her own distinct approach to production. Come sit down and dive into Jasmín’s musical world: a chance to hear the music behind the music, played on the HiFi system and accompanied by the stories, references and ideas that shaped Concrete Summer / Skeletal.

things2proof Listening Session with mo rights

Wed 21 · 14:00 · Radio Radio · The Listening Bar · Amsterdam
Speaker: mo rights (Artist) Join mo rights for a listening session around his debut EP, things2proof, and a conversation about perfectionism, community and what happens to a record after it is released. Like many emerging artists, mo approached his debut with the feeling that it had to be perfect. things2proof became an attempt to move beyond that pressure: to finish the music, release it through a friend’s local label, and invite artists from his community to reshape it through remixes. In doing so, the record became more than a personal debut. It became a snapshot of the scene around him at that moment. Two years later, the project has continued to evolve. Most recently, mo invited another 20 artists from the local and international community to remix the record, resulting in interpretations spanning broken beat, house, techno and everything in between. It is a deliberately bottom-up approach that treats a release not as a finished product, but as something that can keep moving through a community. Through listening and the stories connected to the music, mo will reflect on the psychological process of releasing a debut, the value of letting go of perfection, and the role local scenes can play in shaping an artist’s work. A listening session centred on an ever-evolving body of work that crosses genres, scenes and perspectives.
