The Egg by Touki Delphine

Wed 21 · 10:00 · ADE Lab Village Westergas · Amsterdam
Part of ADE Arts & Culture, co-curated with Amsterdam Light Festival. Amsterdam-based Touki Delphine is a boundary-pushing collective of musicians, performers, and visual artists. They are making waves both nationally and internationally with monumental light and sound installations, built from recycled materials: taillights in FIREBIRD , turn signal relays in RELAY , wiring in TRANSMISSION , windshield washer fluid reservoirs and their pump motors in DRIFTING . Their latest work, SUPERDRUM , is constructed from second-hand drums, wooden branches, and car door lock mechanisms. Through their work, they create musical poetic encounters between humans and machines. Inspired by natural systems, the climate crisis and the idea of nature as a living whole, they imagine a future in which people, nature and technology collaborate rather than compete, and where waste can be transformed into something meaningful, alive and beautiful. That vision feels more urgent than ever. In a time of ecological exhaustion, technological alienation and social fragmentation, they believe there is a growing need for physical, sensory and collective experiences. Through their work, they explore how technology can not only distance us, but also reconnect us, creating poetic encounters between humans and machines. The Egg is a public light installation in Westerpark . It was co-curated with Amsterdam Light Festival , marking a first collaboration between the two organisations that brings together electronic music and light art. It can be visited for free at any time of day or night during ADE week. It will appear in the city again coming winter for the fifteenth edition of Amsterdam Light Festival. Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest x EINDER by Boris Acket

Wed 21 · 20:30 · Centrale Markthal · Amsterdam
One monumental art installation. Two weeks on view. Four extraordinary concerts. Celebrate ADE’s 30th anniversary with EINDER by Boris Acket . On 21 October , monumental music, art and architecture come together to celebrate 30 years of ADE. The Concertgebouworkest will perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony with 70 musicians inside Amsterdam’s monumental Centrale Markthal. Enjoy this true classic from 1808 conducted by Riccardo Minasi , beneath the largest-ever version of Boris Acket’s EINDER. The rhythmic motif of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is repeated constantly, taking on ever-changing forms, and in this way Beethoven builds his symphony layer by layer. While EINDER will shift and reshape above the orchestra creating a dance that is never the same twice. Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony was revolutionary 200 years ago, and it still is today. This energetic music never ceases to surprise. About EINDER EINDER is an artificial sky in constant motion. A vast expanse of ultralight fabric floating above the space, animated by hundreds of electronically controlled fans. The system is precisely programmed, yet what happens overhead can never be entirely controlled. Air currents collide, gravity pulls and turbulence interrupts, turning every movement into something new. At times, EINDER resembles a rolling sea. At others, a passing cloud or the beginnings of a storm. It moves somewhere between choreography and weather. Always changing. Never performing the same way twice. This is a production by artist Boris Acket and Making Waves. Acket has previously collaborated with institutions and artists including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, Lowlands and Fred again. The production is realised by Goonie Crew. EINDER brings together movement, space, sound, material and light in an installation that invites people not only to observe, but to experience. Note: To celebrate the opening night of Einder, we're extending the concert programme. Artist Boris Acket will open the concert with a personal introduction, and you will experience a unique glimpse into Einder, composed especially for this evening. With these additions, the performance will run for approximately 55 minutes and offer something you won't hear anywhere else. As a result, it is no longer possible for us to host two concerts on the same evening. Instead, we'll present one unique concert, taking place from 20:30 - 21:25 on Wednesday, 21 October. If you already purchased tickets for the initial time slots, your tickets will remain valid, and the updated time will also be reflected on your ticket. Get your tickets now! Public Try Out: White Space + Popup by ICK-Next

Thu 22 · 20:00 · ICK Dans Amsterdam - Space for Dance Art · with a public try-out on ADE Thursday · Amsterdam
A monochromatic light instrument played through collective presence. White Space is an immersive installation that transforms negative space into a place where strangers connect. At its heart, a monolith of intense blue and white light spins on its axis, casting compositions of monochromatic light and generative music that shift and dance among the audience. Responding to pose and position, the sculpture becomes an instrument, played by everyone present at once. Only by coordinating their positions and synchronising their poses can visitors reach the climax of the installation: illuminating the emptiness that separates them and transforming the negative space into White Space. White Space is an interactive light installation by artist Matthias Oostrik , who leads its concept, software, and production. Developed under the Harmonic Dissonance Collective , it premieres during ADE Friday (with a public try-out on ADE Thursday), hosted by ICK Dans Amsterdam. Its sonic language, developed with composer Marcel Wierckx , draws from electronic dance music and generative composition, placing the work at the intersection of light art, club culture, and participatory performance. During both the public try-out and premiere, DJ Michiel Bouwens will be playing. The program also features ‘ SMILE ’, Oostrik's AI installation that transforms your portrait into an eerily perfect version of yourself. The Harmonic Dissonance Collective, which Oostrik co-founded with Suzanne Dikker, is known for award-winning work on human connectedness, with collaborations spanning artists from Marina Abramović to Bad Bunny and institutions including the Max Planck Society, VU Amsterdam, New York University, and ICK Dans Amsterdam. Programme: ADE Thursday: Public Try Out, €5- ADE Friday: Premiere, €5- ADE Saturday: Installation, Free ADE Sunday: Installation, Free
