Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest x EINDER by Boris Acket
Wed 21 · 20:30 · Centrale Markthal · Amsterdam
One monumental art installation. Two weeks on view. Four extraordinary concerts. Celebrate ADE’s 30th anniversary with EINDER by Boris Acket . On 21 October , monumental music, art and architecture come together to celebrate 30 years of ADE. The Concertgebouworkest will perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony with 70 musicians inside Amsterdam’s monumental Centrale Markthal. Enjoy this true classic from 1808 conducted by Riccardo Minasi , beneath the largest-ever version of Boris Acket’s EINDER. The rhythmic motif of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is repeated constantly, taking on ever-changing forms, and in this way Beethoven builds his symphony layer by layer. While EINDER will shift and reshape above the orchestra creating a dance that is never the same twice. Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony was revolutionary 200 years ago, and it still is today. This energetic music never ceases to surprise. About EINDER EINDER is an artificial sky in constant motion. A vast expanse of ultralight fabric floating above the space, animated by hundreds of electronically controlled fans. The system is precisely programmed, yet what happens overhead can never be entirely controlled. Air currents collide, gravity pulls and turbulence interrupts, turning every movement into something new. At times, EINDER resembles a rolling sea. At others, a passing cloud or the beginnings of a storm. It moves somewhere between choreography and weather. Always changing. Never performing the same way twice. This is a production by artist Boris Acket and Making Waves. Acket has previously collaborated with institutions and artists including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, Lowlands and Fred again. The production is realised by Goonie Crew. EINDER brings together movement, space, sound, material and light in an installation that invites people not only to observe, but to experience. Note: To celebrate the opening night of Einder, we're extending the concert programme. Artist Boris Acket will open the concert with a personal introduction, and you will experience a unique glimpse into Einder, composed especially for this evening. With these additions, the performance will run for approximately 55 minutes and offer something you won't hear anywhere else. As a result, it is no longer possible for us to host two concerts on the same evening. Instead, we'll present one unique concert, taking place from 20:30 - 21:25 on Wednesday, 21 October. If you already purchased tickets for the initial time slots, your tickets will remain valid, and the updated time will also be reflected on your ticket. Get your tickets now! Thomas Azier x raam art space: Live Showcase
Thu 22 · 19:00 · raam art space · Amsterdam
Thomas Azier x raam art space: Live Showcase - First Time Slot After three years of relative silence, Thomas Azier returns with PANORAMA, an expansive and deeply personal musical project, marking a new chapter in his artistic trajectory. Intimate but bold, the project unfolds across sound and visual language. With his performance at raam art space Thomas Azier will introduce this new work. Poems, field recordings, video works and performative elements disrupt the traditional concert structure, giving it a fractured, collage-like character. Azier’s new music carries his strong melodic sensibility further merging string arrangements and experimental practices into a series of intriguing pieces. The voice becomes an interpretative tool, shifting between male and female, human and animal, mythical and real. Songs are juxtaposed with intermissions and character changes that shift rhythm and mood, like switching channels or scrolling through an endless feed. Thomas Azier is a dutch composer, producer, singer and performer. He has released 6 albums over the past 12 years, consistently shaping the contours of his unique take on pop music. raam art space was opened by Gallery Vriend van Bavink. It offers an open view into an evolving program of exhibitions and ideas that engage directly with the city. Upcoming exhibition: "Forest of the City" by Anouk Griffioen (from Oct 2 - Nov 22 2026).
