Thu 22 · 20:30 · Cinetol · Amsterdam
Niels Orens Niels Orens (BE) is an electronic producer and live performer exploring the intersection of acoustic instrumentation and immersive electronic sound design. His music transforms organic textures into deeply atmospheric, emotionally resonant soundscapes that prioritize tension, spatial depth, and sonic detail over traditional song structures. Orens crafts a sound that moves between fractured breakbeats, haunting low-end pressure, distorted textures and fragile melodic moments — balancing raw intensity with moments of quiet stillness. His work explores themes of alienation, loneliness and internal unrest, translating emotional detachment into immersive, slow-burning compositions that feel both physically immediate and deeply human. His live performances extend the emotional and cinematic quality of his recordings through immersive audiovisual elements and precise sound design, offering an intimate glimpse into an evolving body of work that continues to push deeper into experimentation, texture and emotional clarity. echofarmer echofarmer (BE) is the alias of Brussels-based producer and musician Arne Nuyts . With a sound as suited for the club as for the couch, echofarmer crafts enchanting miniverses. Hyperdetailed percussion and deep subs fuse with vocal-like synths, acoustic instruments, and found sounds. Combining childlike joy with surgical precision, every live set is infectiously unique, all unified by echofarmer’s tactile approach to sound and relentless appetite for experimentation. From teletubbie hyperjungle to bedroomstep and pillowcore, echofarmer blurs the line between dance floor and blanket fort.
RADIOHOP | Tomoki Sanders
Thu 22 · 20:30 · Bimhuis · Amsterdam
Where many bands revolve around a single voice or lead instrument, RADIOHOP builds a truly collective sound. Every member plays an equal role and the music moves as one organism, driven by feeling and atmosphere rather than ego or the spotlight. The instrumental quartet from Amsterdam, made up of Joshua Lutz, Euan Jenkins, Johnny Biner and Joel Svedberg, shapes its compositions through experimentation, intuitive collaboration and deep listening, weaving jazz, hip hop and groove into compelling soundscapes. Following their debut album All We Do came a remix EP and the beat-focused album Hard To Handle, and the band has recorded a second full-length that digs even deeper into that raw, collaborative energy. Tenor saxophonist Tomoki Sanders moves effortlessly between two worlds: the New York lineage of spiritual, adventurous jazz and today's beat and hip hop scene. From their New York base they share the stage with greats such as Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane and the Jack DeJohnette Trio, while also working with innovators like Kassa Overall, Taylor McFerrin and Mark de Clive-Lowe. With roots in both New York and Japan, Sanders draws these different languages into a raw, searching sound of their own. The result is music as at home in a club night as in the concert hall. In collaboration with Amsterdam Dance Event and in partnership with Steppin', we turn our hall into a club for one night. The seats come out, the room goes standing and the dance floor opens. 19:30 Café Steppin': Lucas Benjamin & Kay Tee dj 20:30 RADIOHOP 21:30 Tomoki Sanders After the show, café: afterparty Steppin' Explore more ADE Arts & Culture events at Bimhuis here .
State OFFF
Thu 22 · 21:30 · Paradiso · Amsterdam
On the Thursday of ADE, the multi-talented artist presents a special A/V performance at Paradiso for the first time, titled Umzimba. Zimbabwe-born and Amsterdam-based DJ and producer State OFFF is rapidly emerging as a standout name in the international club scene. He blends influences from around the world, including São Paulo’s baile funk, Baltimore club, London bass, and Durban’s gqom , an energetic South African dance style known for its raw, syncopated rhythms. Fans know him for his productions, including his debut EP GQOM TODAY (2022), as well as performances at venues and festivals such as Parallel, Lente Kabinet Festival, Nyege Nyege, and Liquid Room in Edinburgh. During ADE, he presents his new A/V performance Umzimba. In this work, heavy percussion from live hardware sequencers interacts with a language model that translates sound into visuals. The piece explores a kind of “phantom experience” of a body under strain: sweat, fatigue, and exhaustion, even though no physical body is present. The result is a dialogue between analogue rhythm and digital intelligence, where sound becomes image and rhythm transforms into fragmented, poetic language.
