L'Rain is Taja Cheek’s solo project, first documented on the 2017 self-titled release and then expanded through Fatigue, I Killed Your Dog and 2026’s fata morgana on Mexican Summer. She sits in the Brooklyn experimental/DIY lane, with the writing and production language of a curator who treats arrangement like collage and song form like something to be bent, not obeyed.
