The Primitivist is precision club music built from Arabic melodic cells, syncopated percussion, and a clean, hard-edged mix. Abadir’s tracks sit in a propulsive mid-tempo zone rather than peak-time rattle, with Hogir Göregen’s percussion adding live lift and swing.

More about ABADIR & HOGIR present The Primitivist

Rami Abadir is a Cairo-born producer, sound designer, DJ, music critic, and editor now based in Berlin. The project comes out of a scene that treats Arab rhythmic vocabularies as the source material, not the sample bin, and his 2026 release on Bandcamp is the clearest statement of that approach here.
