Jamie Clarke's intimate indie folk, recorded cheaply and written close-up
Based in London, United Kingdom
Jamie Clarke writes soft, close-miked songs around acoustic guitar, gentle melodies and slightly rough home-recording textures. Expect a quiet, voice-forward performance whose arrangements occasionally bend through distorted vocals and off-centre production rather than a full-volume indie-rock set.
Clarke previously worked under the name SFVEN before adopting The Man The Myth The Meatslab and finding an audience through informal TikTok performances. The London-based project signed to New York label Mutual Friends, moving from the homemade Chronicles of Gerald Womack to three EPs and support tours with Mon Rovia, Ethan Regan and JOSEPH.
He recorded the entire debut EP on a £20 Akai microphone bought years earlier on eBay.
