Young Frankston four-piece hammering ’60s beat into scrappy power pop
Based in Frankston, Australia
The Gnomes play short, hook-stacked rock’n’roll driven by brisk drums, melodic bass, wiry twin guitars and group vocals. Their Merseybeat and Kinks-style snap comes with garage-band abrasion; the live set is built for movement rather than studied revivalism.
Jay Millar began Gnome as a prolific bedroom-recording project before recruiting Ned Capp, Olly Katsianis and Ethan Robins through Frankston rehearsal hub Singing Bird Studios. The full band became part of a young DIY Frankston cluster, releasing its 2025 debut through Australian garage institution Dog Meat and reissue label Grown Up Wrong!
