London electro-twee duo turning dating humiliation into glitchy pop miniatures
Based in London, United Kingdom · From United Kingdom
Songs are mostly sub-three-minute electro-twee bursts: Casio-like bleeps, Y2K phone tones, hard electronic bass and occasional acoustic textures beneath whispers, deadpan talk-singing and sharp sung hooks. The Badaboum concert should be a compact, unpredictable run through I Have To Get Hotter, with staged absurdity and between-song jokes folded into the set.
Rowan Miles and Gabriella Turton formed The Femcels in London in February 2024, entering their first session with a name but no written music. Their circle overlaps Bassvictim and Worldpeace DMT: Ike Clateman produced their debut, while Leo Fincham co-produced two tracks. Early NTS appearances led to a spring 2026 residency, placing them inside London's internet-literate electronic underground rather than a conventional indie circuit.
After Maria from Bassvictim broke Gabriella's pink toy guitar, it appeared fixed in their lobby the next day; they took it as a sign, got drunk, and recorded four album songs that night.
