Adelaide four-piece turning slacker jangle into fuzz-heavy guitar rushes
Based in Adelaide, Australia · From Australia
Mount Zero moves from airy jangle and close vocal harmonies into thick fuzz, jagged guitar surges and pounding drums, with slowcore dips and sharp loud-quiet pivots. Onstage, three vocalists and a flexible guitar-and-drums lineup give the songs a loose, physical charge rather than shoegaze stasis.
Swapmeet came through Adelaide’s close-knit DIY scene, beginning in high school and recording and mixing their early material themselves. After Oxalis won Best Release and “Ceiling Fan” Best Song at the 2024 South Australian Music Awards, they became Winspear’s first signing from outside the United States and released Mount Zero in July 2026.
They pieced together Mount Zero over two weeks in a Port Noarlunga beach house, writing upstairs, recording downstairs and playing ping-pong in another room.
