Motorik post-punk with snarled vocals, synth pressure and hardcore velocity
Based in Melbourne, Australia
Vicente Moncada’s pounding motorik drums lock against Kaya Martin’s fuzzed guitar, synth bass and electronic pulses while Wry Gray delivers clipped, snarled vocals. Recent material pushes their no-wave post-punk toward high-tempo electro, making this likely to be a short, physical set with little space between songs.
Sex Mask formed in Melbourne around Gray and Moncada, both shaped by the city’s hardcore circuit, with Martin completing the trio on guitar and synths. Their run through No Love, Body Broker and 2026’s Raid established a self-contained writing and production unit whose reference points stretch from early industrial and no wave to electronic punk.
Moncada and Gray began writing as a duo in 2022 after finding themselves in Melbourne following almost a decade apart.
