Bristol electro-punk turning social irritation into sharp three-minute hooks
Based in Bristol, England
Taut guitar hooks, bass-heavy grooves, punchy live drums and flashes of synth or programmed percussion support Isaac Stroud-Allen’s nasal, sarcastic delivery. The songs move quickly between post-punk abrasion, electroclash pulse and blunt pop choruses; live, the quartet aim for frenzy rather than polish.
Isaac Stroud-Allen, Jordanna Forsey, James Mellen and Niamh “Naia” Jones met as students in Bristol in 2021. Early singles came through Submarine Cat before the band signed with Parlophone, while Bristol peers IDLES provided a model for pairing communal live energy with social commentary.
The four members met in 2021 during the same clinical trial, but confidentiality agreements prevent them explaining further.
