Killswitch guitar loops expanded into widescreen ambient post-rock
Based in Boston, United States
Evan Lo layers tapped and killswitch-cut Telecaster figures into recursive melodies, surrounding them with long reverb tails, ambient synth beds and programmed percussion. The touring version translates those miniature loops into a punchier full-band post-rock set, with sustained guitar noise and broader dynamic peaks.
Lo began with piano and high-school bands before producing electronic music at home, initially releasing as Fla.mingo. Flawed Mangoes found a new audience in 2023 when Killswitch Lullaby and related instrumentals became attached to the internet’s hopecore edits; the 2026 album Afterlife stretches that language into longer pieces.
Lo and his band rehearsed for eight months to turn his atmospheric recordings into a punchier live show.
