Deep-dug ’90s house, dramatic melody and spring-loaded breakbeats
Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Abdel Nour works with warm ’90s house grooves, large vocal hooks, dramatic melodic passages and elastic breakbeats, occasionally leaning into body music or old-school techno. His sets favour long emotional curves over blunt escalation, moving between breezy release and tougher rhythmic pressure.
Born in Syria and raised in Groningen from the age of three, Abdel Nour developed through the Dutch club circuit before settling in Amsterdam. At OOST he co-founded the queer party HOMOOST, later renamed BUTTS, and has held residencies at OOST, De School and CLUB RAUM.
At Lowlands in 2023, he brought his younger brother and sister onstage during his biggest set to date.
