Industrial synth-punk and multilingual ballads inside Orion Ohana’s cinematic universe
From Oakland, United States
At its hardest, Evanora:Unlimited runs on fast, compact drum programming, grimy bass, alarm-like synths, blown-out guitar and chant-screamed vocals. Recent material also makes room for slower piano and acoustic-guitar ballads in several languages; live sets change nightly and can fold Marjorie W.C. Sinclair’s Bay Area rap into the punk material.
Oakland-born Orion Ohana grew up around underground raves through DJ-producer parents and now describes the project as Croatia-based. Evanora:Unlimited connects Bay Area rap and rave lineage with European industrial, post-punk and folk, while the related Marjorie W.C. Sinclair character holds the project’s more overtly rap-focused songs.
