Grunge-scarred Americana with sharp hooks and pedal steel
Based in Nashville, United States
Wedl sets plainspoken, forceful vocals against distorted guitars, pedal steel, Dobro and a muscular rhythm section. The live set should lean into her self-described “grungetry”: grunge and punk abrasion threaded through Nashville songwriting.
Minnesota-raised Wedl co-founded the queercore band Dazey & the Scouts in 2015; their lone record, Maggot, later found an unexpected audience through social media. Her 2026 self-titled ANTI- debut was co-produced by Katie Crutchfield and Brad Cook, placing her alongside the current Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman orbit without sanding down her punk instincts.
She grew up in a religious household and remembers visiting her elderly aunts at their convent.
