Brooklyn slowcore tension detonating into angular noise rock
Based in Brooklyn, United States · From Denver, United States
bloodsports begin with spare guitar figures, restrained drums and plainspoken dual vocals, then let distortion and dissonant riffs swallow the melody. The live set is patient rather than nonstop: slowcore tension, clipped punk passages and carefully timed full-band blowouts.
Sam Murphy and Jeremy Mock started the project while at college in Denver, released a 2023 EP, then moved to New York and rebuilt the lineup with Liv Eriksen and Scott Hale. The current quartet became part of Brooklyn's DIY circuit around Trans-Pecos, TV Eye and Union Pool before issuing Anything Can Be A Hammer through the young Good English Records.
After moving from Denver, Jeremy Mock randomly ended up living blocks from his old school friend Liv Eriksen; she spent much of that winter sleeping on the band's cardboard couch before joining.
