Breath-controlled choreography inside a reactive Unreal Engine ecosystem
Wearable sensors turn each performer's breathing into control data for spatial sound and an Unreal Engine environment of luminous vegetation, spheres and drifting particles. Slow breaths produce calm, suspended passages; breath retention and hyperventilation push the sound, movement and image toward pressure and chaos.
Inspiria was created at La Salle–Universitat Ramon Llull by digital-arts master's students Alberto Benavent, Andrea Naharro, Lerie Pemanagpo and Lizzie Keigler. Their shared system joins Butoh-derived choreography and physical theatre to biosensing, reactive 3D design and co-regulated performance, with mentoring from The Glad Scientist, Xavi Maixenchs, Tatiana Halbach and Desilence's Søren Christensen.
