Bard-born duo splicing whispered pop with breaks and square-wave bass
Breathy, near-whispered vocals sit over lilting synth lines, skittering breakbeats and sudden square-wave bass surges. Clinking glasses, birds and phone-recorded guitars are cut into short collages moving between ambient hush and head-nodding pressure. At Trabendo, expect a laptop-led live set centred on 2026's Rumspringa, with both members singing.
Yaelle Avtan and Jonah Paz met at Bard College in 2024, bringing backgrounds in ceramics and painting into a fifty-fifty audiovisual project. After releasing The Most Dear and The Future through Surf Gang Records, they moved to A24 Music for Rumspringa, placing Hudson Valley art-school pop within the online indietronic orbit around Bassvictim and Chanel Beads.
They made “Nerves” mere weeks after meeting, recording it on an iPhone in their university library.
