Marc Arnela plays sustained, formant-rich vowels through three physical heads whose MRI-derived vocal tracts act as resonators, controlling them from an expressive MIDI keyboard. I AM JAS surrounds those synthetic voices with textured electronics while animated versions of the heads loom across the screen; this is an audiovisual performance, not a conventional club live set.

More about AEDOSSYNTH

AEDOSSYNTH comes from the Acoustics Lab at Barcelona's La Salle–Universitat Ramon Llull, where Arnela researches vocal-tract modelling, mechanical voice production and synthesis. It expands Aedos, shown at Sónar+D in 2024, and pairs that research with Jesús Vaquerizo's work as Barcelona electronic producer I AM JAS.
