Oberek reworked with synths and electronic drums
From Radom region, Poland
Oberek rhythms on vintage synthesizers and electronic percussion, with a singer’s voice cutting through the pulse. The trio pushes the village-dance base toward clipped grooves, bright keys, and a propulsive, looping feel rather than straight traditional arrangement.
Tercet Imperial are a Polish trio formed by two longtime collaborators from jazz, electronics, and traditional music, later joined by a singer and dancer from the Radom region. They come out of the current Polish folk-electronic field, but their reference points are village dance parties and the oberek tradition rather than club revivalism.
Before forming the group, two of the members spent years traveling to village dance parties to learn the repertoire at its source.
