Arabic-tinged electro-acoustic duo album
Juddering electronics sit against buzuk, rababa, clarineau, and saxophone, with Moumneh’s Arabic singing carrying the top line. It sounds like chamber music broken open by distortion and lament, moving from intimate phrases to dense ensemble swell.
Moumneh works under Jerusalem In My Heart, where Arabic vocal form meets electronics, while Oberland comes from Oiseaux-Tempête’s improvising, collective-composition world. Their debut, Eternal Life No End, was developed over two years from duets begun at Montréal’s Hotel2Tango in summer 2023 and is out on Constellation. The album started as a series of duets Moumneh initiated at Montréal’s Hotel2Tango studio in summer 2023.
