More about mundu lawaai
mundu lawaai is framed as an urban band founded for the club, drawing on diasporic connections between the Netherlands, Indonesia, Brazil and the Caribbean. Le Guess Who? positions them as archive-minders too, pulling from the Jaap Kunst Archive, maracatu patterns and Teklife-era beat language.
A story
They treat an Instagram reel like one more archive source alongside a 200-year-old maracatu drum pattern.
