Holy Tongue

Dub trio built from percussion, bass, and electronics

Listen on Spotify

Tight low-end, fractured percussion, and echo-soaked space drive the set. The trio move between meditative dub pressure and more open, improvised stretches; on the newer material, Dali De Saint Paul guests on a couple of tracks, pushing it toward trancey, post-punk territory.

More about Holy Tongue

Holy Tongue formed in 2018 around Valentina Magaletti and Al Wootton, then became a trio with Susumu Mukai (Zongamin). They sit in the London dub/leftfield club overlap, with Wootton running TRULE and the project drawing from dub reggae, free improvisation, and post-punk rather than straight genre pastiche.

A story

The project started as an improvised East London studio session, then grew into a full band.
