Mama Demba and Henrique Silva founded Tabanka Records in Amadora in 2019, turning a proposed record shop into a label, production platform and home for projects including Acácia Maior, Landa and Rally Fantasia. MF Andrade brings the Rotterdam side of the Cabo Verdean diaspora through FAROFFA, his platform connecting Cabo Verdean and Brazilian music, art and community.
A story
Mama Demba and Henrique Silva both came from Mindelo but only met in Lisbon in 2018; their 13-year age gap meant they had never crossed paths back home.
