Tolouse Low Trax
Slow mechanical psychedelia from the Salon des Amateurs axis
Based in Paris, France · From Bad Säckingen, Germany
Tolouse Low Trax builds slow, crooked grooves from dry drum-machine patterns, small-synth figures, dub space, industrial clatter and occasional spectral voices. His DJ sets widen that language into wave, krautrock, psychedelia and off-centre techno, favouring patient transitions and rhythms that stagger rather than charge.
More about Tolouse Low Trax
Tolouse Low Trax is Detlef Weinrich, a longtime Kreidler member and co-founder and former resident of Düsseldorf's Salon des Amateurs. That club's loose network of selectors helped establish a strain of slow, psychedelic dance music outside conventional house and techno; Weinrich's records for Karaoke Kalk, Antinote, Bureau B and TAL are central documents of it.
