POL100’s spectral breaks meet Xaxer’s muddy dembow basslines
POL100 brings brittle pads, metallic percussion, stuttering breaks and cinematic bass architecture; Xaxer works closer to syncopated Latin bass, distorted low end and muddy dembow. Their daytime pairing should favour broken rhythms and gradual pressure over four-to-the-floor continuity.
POL100 is Ferrara-born producer Paolo Maiarelli, whose releases for YUKU, Early Reflex, Eastern Nurseries, Katharsis and Bound Centre dismantle ambient, jungle and bass forms. Ecuador-born, Turin-based Xaxer runs Spumisha, a platform focused on evolving art from the Sonic Souths, especially Abya Yala and its diasporas.
