Sample-cut computer music crossing electroacoustics, poetry and free jazz
Based in Santiago, Chile
Fake Samo works from computer-recorded samples, edits and improvisational structures rather than a fixed club grid. His recent material folds fractured electronics around tenor saxophone and drums, moving from granular quiet and ambient suspension into dense free-jazz collisions.
Fake Samo is Sebastián Herrera, a Chilean musician, poet and journalist active in Santiago's experimental network. He co-founded Plataforma Grieta, releases through Pueblo Nuevo and works with Nicolas Jaar's Other People on the Ladridos project; since 2023 he has also recorded with Mika Martini as BraKhaGe.
