Catalan composer for voice, piano, and synthetic detail
From Spain
She works with trained voice, piano, and electronics, but the pieces lean away from recital-room clarity into cut-up vocal lines, fast internal movement, and glossy digital texture. Live, this usually reads as a tightly controlled set built from her solo material, with the voice carrying the structure and the production framing it in sharp, strange colours.
She comes out of Barcelona’s experimental and contemporary composition orbit, and her early records Nanook and Babasha put her in the classical-to-avant-garde lane before Pripyat and Nekkuja pushed harder into PAN’s electronic field. The invented-language vocals and Carnatic references mark her as part of the current wave of composers treating the voice as an instrument first, lyric vehicle second.
For Nekkuja, she wrote while waiting for Pripyat to come out and said she felt professionally unmoored.
