Kelela
R&B vocalist folding club rhythm into atmosphere
Based in Los Angeles, United States · From United States
Clear, tensile singing over beats that often stay fragmented rather than fully locking into 4/4. Expect voice-forward club music with a lot of air around the drums, bass, and synth detail.
More about Kelela
Kelela came up through the left-of-center R&B and club continuum around releases like Cut 4 Me, Take Me Apart, and Raven. She’s one of the key voices linking contemporary R&B to deconstructed club and electronic production outside the mainstream lane.
