Iceage singer’s solo set of songs and spoken fragments
From Denmark
This is voice-forward material, with Rønnenfelt's grainy delivery carrying the set more than any fixed genre framework. The solo work sits between stripped song form, poetic phrasing and a darker, airless rock feel, with room for more intimate passages than Iceage's full-band attack.
Rønnenfelt is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of Iceage, the Copenhagen band that became one of the key names in the 2010s European post-punk wave. His solo material and collaborations with Dean Blunt, Joanne Robertson and Why Be put him in a looser UK/European art-rock conversation, and his poetry book 'Sunken Heights' adds another layer to the live set. He published his debut poetry collection, 'Sunken Heights', via Anthology.
