Thea Gustafsson layers pitched vocal choirs, delicate keys, strings, overdriven synths, field recordings and heavy, sometimes trip-hop-shaped drums. Expect a live rendering of Only music makes me cry now that shifts between hushed breakup songs, clipped electronic collage and full-bodied choruses.
Gustafsson grew up in Örebro, studied at Musikmakarna and later worked between Stockholm and London before signing to 4AD. Her self-recorded 2024 album established her as a producer as much as a singer, earning Sweden's Producer of the Year Grammis in 2025.
The name came from a sample in her first production: a woman called Becky describing her friend as a bird.
