Songpot · Amsterdam Dance Event 2026

Melodic, stiff-backed electronic dance music driven by analogue gear and a self-built modular synth. Expect bright hooks, rubbery bass, and the sort of live arrangement that turns old-school melody into club pressure.

More about Rex the Dog

Rex the Dog is Jake Williams, better known in the 1990s as JX. Since 2004 he’s released mainly on Kompakt, where he sits alongside the label’s more melodic, machine-made techno and electro house side.

A story

He started Rex the Dog with just one synth: a vintage Korg 700S. Source (fan or blog page)
