RADIOHOP

Amsterdam jazz/hip-hop quartet with beat-driven collective improvisation

Instrumental quartet writing sits between chops, live groove and open-ended improvisation. The new material is beat-forward, but the textures stay loose: sax, keys, bass and drums moving from head-nod swing into dubby space and Brazilian-leaning harmony. On a live bill with Tomoki Sanders, expect a set that leans harder into interplay and pocket than into straight club mode.

More about RADIOHOP

RADIOHOP are a four-piece from Amsterdam built around equal parts and collective arranging, not a frontperson. Their debut All We Do was followed by HARD TO HANDLE on Melting Pot Music, and the Bandcamp notes place them in a lane touching soul, funk, jazz, broken beat and fusion. They also worked with Kid Sublime on a very limited Kill Your Darlings test pressing, which fits their connection to the Amsterdam beat and jazz crossover scene.
