Poolman comes out of Groningen’s club and live-music infrastructure: he started in metal shows and tours, founded Subsonic in 2011, and later became Night Mayor of Groningen. He also runs Gateway to China through Bookya and works at the overlap of municipal policy, club culture, and export strategy.
