Gerald van der Kaap
Amsterdam media artist and longtime VJ 00-KAAP
Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands
This is not a DJ set so much as a media-artist appearance: photography, video, club nights, electronic music, and VJ work are all part of the same practice. Expect a conversation or presentation orbiting his moving-image work and club history rather than a straight music performance.
More about Gerald van der Kaap
Gerald van der Kaap, also known as 00-KAAP, has been part of Dutch media art since the early 1980s and has moved between photography, video, books, club culture, and electronic music. His own site and ADE bio point to club nights, an early multimedia CD-ROM called BlindRom v0.9, and the experimental feature film Beyond Index, which places him in the Amsterdam crossover between art spaces and nightlife.
