AI copyright lawyer on authorship, licensing, and music rights
Based in Dublin, Ireland
This is a panel talk, not a performance. Barry Scannell’s angle is legal: copyright, AI ownership, text and data mining, and the way machine-learning tools collide with music licensing and rights clearance.
Scannell is a partner in William Fry’s Technology department in Dublin and is recognised for work on AI law, copyright, IP, data protection, and AI-specific contracts and dataset agreements. He spent six years at IMRO as director of legal affairs and regulatory compliance, so he comes at this from the music-rights side as well as the tech side.
